What is electrics cover and why do I need it?
Electrics cover offers assistance in case electrical problems arise in your home.
With this insurance in place, you’ll have peace of mind that if you face issues such as failed wiring, a breakdown of your fusebox or even broken sockets and switches, you’ll be able to call on our Home Experts for help.
We’ll even cover you for accidental damage to your electrics - so if you have a DIY disaster, you can rely on us to help you sort it out.
What do I need to know about the current offer?
Plumbing and Electrics is currently available at £3.50 a month (£42 a year) for the first year only.
This offer ends on 10 December 2024 and is for new customers and homeowners only
Once this offer expires, the product will revert to £4 a month for the first year. Terms and Conditions and exclusions apply.
Who can buy this insurance?
These electrics insurance products are for homeowners who live in houses, bungalows or flats.
However, we also offer a range of cover options for landlords.
What does HomeServe electrics insurance include?
Our electrics insurance includes cover for unexpected problems that might arise in your home, such as failed wiring, a breakdown of your fusebox and broken sockets and switches.
Some of our insurance products offer additional cover for problems with your central heating system, plus insurance for your home’s plumbing and drainage - so you can choose the one that suits you best.
Some insurance options come with a FREE Boiler Service in the first year.
Are home appliances covered by my electrics insurance?
No, this insurance doesn’t cover home appliances such as your washing machine, oven or dishwasher.
What happens if I discover an electrical problem?
You can make an insurance claim at any time of the day or night, 365 days a year - so whenever you find that something’s wrong, you can reach us and let us know.
Once that’s done, one of our Home Experts will soon be on hand to help get things fixed. We always aim to solve your problem the first time we come out to you, and most of our repairs are guaranteed for 12 months.

For policies that include a boiler service, the price of the service is shown as FREE when compared to the equivalent cover without service
The boiler service is FREE in the first year only. Upon renewal, this is chargeable and will be included as standard in the cost of the policy.
